Bridget Whitlow is a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern at the UCSD Eating Disorders Treatment and Research Center. She provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy for both adolescents and adults struggling with an eating disorder in the Intensive Outpatient Program. Bridget’s approach to therapy is integrative, with emphasis on psychodynamic, CBT, and DBT treatment modalities.
Bridget obtained her M.S. in Clinical Psychology at San Francisco State University. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and Women’s Studies from Mills College, where she received the Quigley Award for outstanding achievement and community service.
Bridget’s previous research interests have included competition and its relationship to self-esteem, twin-sibling relationships, and the impact of alcohol use on the aging brain. She is currently working with the UCSD Eating Disorders team on a study that is examining the efficacy of two family treatments for individuals with anorexia nervosa.
