Christina Meyer

Christina Meyer (she/her) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor in the Adult Program at UC San Diego Health Eating Disorders Center for Treatment and Research. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Women and Gender Studies, from Arizona State University in 2019, and her Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton in 2024. During her time at CSUF, Christina provided individual and group therapy to students at Orange Coast College and supported queer and questioning youth as a volunteer crisis counselor with The Trevor Project. Inspired by this work, she completed her thesis on treatment strategies aimed at reducing suicidal ideation among LGBTQ+ clients aged 13–24. Following graduation, Christina worked with San Diego Youth Services’ HERE Now Program, a suicide prevention and early intervention initiative serving middle and high school students across San Diego County. She brings this foundation in prevention and intervention to her current role, where she collaborates with clients to develop harm reduction-oriented coping strategies. Christina also incorporates a social constructionist lens in her clinical work, with a focus on understanding how cultural expectations around gender expression may contribute to the development of eating disorders. In her free time, Christina enjoys watching A24 horror films, listening to The Last Dinner Party, and having long phone conversations with friends.
