Brenna Yob is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in eating disorder treatment at UC San Diego Eating Disorders Center for Treatment and Research. She has worked with the eating disorder population since 2022 across roles as a Milieu Therapist and Admissions Clinician, providing care to children, adolescents, and families navigating Anorexia Nervosa (restricting and binge/purge subtypes) and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), often alongside co-occurring conditions including anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, and phobias.
Brenna earned her BS in Psychology from UC San Diego in 2020 and her MA in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego in 2023. She completed her graduate practicum at UC San Diego Eating Disorders Center, where she gained experience providing individual, family, and group therapy, and continued working at UCSD following graduation.
Her clinical work integrates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Family-Based Treatment (FBT), with careful attention to the medical and psychiatric complexities unique to eating disorders. Beyond direct clinical care, Brenna has contributed to research, teaching, and professional development within the field of eating disorders and systemic therapy. Her work includes co-leading seminars on the intersection of Anorexia Nervosa and OCD, presenting in multiple ARFID-focused trainings both virtually and in person, co-leading the first Intensive Family Therapy week for ARFID at UCSD, and co-teaching an upper-division course at UC San Diego.
