Amaya brings over eight years of experience in behavioral health to her role as a Milieu Therapist at the UCSD Eating Disorders Clinic. She began her career working in group homes supporting individuals with dual diagnoses, where she built a strong foundation in trauma-informed and person-centered care. She then spent four years at Rady Children’s Hospital, gaining valuable experience in pediatric and adolescent mental health. At UCSD, Amaya works closely with patients and their families in the Eating Disorders Treatment Program, collaborating with the clinical team to provide compassionate, coordinated support throughout each patient’s recovery journey.
